Getting Lost in Greenville...

I know I owe you posts about Asheville and Blue Ridge BUT we are on our way to see family in PA and just spent a night in one of my favorites cities in the South. It'd feel like cheating on a boyfriend if I didn't mention it.

Quaint yet Lively. Family friendly but with the right amount of foodie flair to wet our appetitie. I can find plenty to do with the little man (they have a ridiculous children's museum, tons of funky coffee shops with yummy treats, or in this case bed jumping will do) and I can look forward to finding something just as great for the adults at night. Last night we ate a divine meal at The Lazy Goat. Fried
Goat Cheese balls, mussels with chorizo, morrocan lamb, white chocolate brûlée, and more. Ah-mazing!!!

We Crave a Different Kind of Buzz....

Wow! This week has flown by me in the blink of an eye. It has been an interesting week on my blog with quite a lot of natural disaster talk but it seems that progress is being made back home which makes me so happy and..wait for it....grateful! (

Next week I am going to devote some time to those two little getaways I mentioned (Blue Ridge and Asheville) and dish out a few ideas for things to do with your kids while away while simultaneously enjoying yourself too. I know, it doesn't sound possible right?

For now though, I wanted to leave you with a  little pick me up. I am a music maniac. My first post ever could shed some light on my disillusions for you. Check it out here.

Growing through Showing...

Nothing makes me happier than a good 'light bulb' moment. The moments where all of a sudden things appear so clear and you realize you had the answer all along.

Unexpected lessons....

The parents gather around and wait anxiously for the elevator doors to open. The "feast" has been prepared and the tables have been set. Turkey Roll ups have been delicately put together with toothpicks, centerpieces made of construction paper turkeys and balloons have been created with love. Parents get their IPhone and cameras ready to capture a picture of the sweet person they have created on this day of the feast.

The Moutains are a calling!

The holidays are coming. The holidays are coming. And with that sadly can come a bit of baggage and stress; time crunch to buy gifts, traveling to visit multiple relatives, trying to make time for friends and social events. This year it seems that everything is kicking into high gear a little early. Is it just me or should it already be December 14th?

Well I need to get away, clean my soul and the ONLY thing I can think of that can accomplish that is to head north to the mountains...any mountain will do. If I can look at Fall Foliage, breathe fresh air and take it in I'm cool.  This week is going to be epic...I am going to the mountains TWICE. That's how I roll.

In my own way....

The world was getting in my way this morning. I woke up excited to tackle this day and then a short drive to drop off my son at preschool was killing my mojo....like screaming and cursing at cars kinda killing.  It seemed that no matter what I did the world wanted to irritate me. Slow moving cars, slow service to get a coffee, no milk sitting out once I got my coffee followed by another 5 minute wait to get the milk. On the way home, a slow moving garbage truck got in front of me and like the universe was flipping me the bird it actually turned into my subdivision and it actually was heading towards my house. AHHHH!!! GET OUT OF MY WAY!
